What if my CogAT Post-Screener can't be tested within 30 days of the CogAT Screening Form?
Will my student(s) be ineligible to take the CogAT Post-Screener and receive full scores if they are unable to test within 30 days of taking the CogAT Screening Form?
While it is still recommended to test students with the Post-Screener within 30 days of taking the Screening Form, the only requirement of this rule is that both the Screening Form event and the Post-Screener event are dated within 30 days of each other. Students can test and receive scores as long as they tested within the two events, even if it was more than 30 days apart.
For example, if the Screening Form event has a Test Event Date of 8/1, then the Post-Screener event has to have a Test Event Date of within 30 days of 8/1.
Below are visual examples of how to correctly set up a Post-Screener event after a Screening Form event has taken place.
Above is the Screening Form event with a Test Event Date of 12/13/2021.
Please note the Close Date of an event will always be exactly 30 days from the Test Event Date.
Here is an example of a Post-Screener event that was set up correctly.
The Test Event Date is exactly 30 days from the Screening Form event Test Event Date. This event WILL allow students to test and students WILL receive full CogAT scores.
Please note the Close Date of this event allows students to test their Post-Screener up to this day, which can be past 30 days from when they took their Screening Form. A Close Date can be extended, if needed, but it is not recommended.
Here is an example of a Post-Screener event that was set up incorrectly.
The Test Event Date is 31 days from the Screening Form event Test Event Date. This event WILL NOT allow students to test and students WILL NOT be able to receive full scores.
