Overview of Web Reporting Keys

DataManager web Reporting Keys are alphanumeric codes used for running reports on students' test results. Riverside Insights provides these Reporting Keys to DataPlus Account Holders after test results have been processed by the scoring service. Online testing Account Holders can obtain web Reporting Keys from the Manage Reporting Access page on the Administration menu.

Account Holders, or individuals they delegate, distribute Reporting Keys based on a staff user's role, location, and/or purpose. For example, a school principal might receive Reporting Keys for the entire building and all of the individual classrooms and teachers in the building. The principal could supply teachers with their own keys for their classes but also run each of those reports separately, then run "rolled-up" reports for one grade or the building as a whole. (See Organize answer documents for Reporting Keys.)

DataPlus staff members (Teachers and report-only-access users) can create their own accounts with the Reporting Key(s) sent to them by their Account Holders or Administrators. (See Creating Reports.)

Online testing customers with the roles of Teacher and above can access reports without entering Reporting Keys by signing in to DataManager with their unique user credentials. Online testing report-only users require Reporting Keys to view reports for their locations.

Process for Customers

The process of obtaining and distributing Reporting Keys for your organization is outlined below.

Note: This process applies primarily to customers who have purchased the DataPlus package. For Online Testing customers, if staff members require access to reports for locations outside their scope, the Account Holder can find the Reporting Keys on the Manage Reporting Access page and send the Reporting Keys from within DataManager or in a separate email.

  1. Your organization completes a test event and sends the results to Riverside Scoring.
  2. Riverside Scoring generates Reporting Keys for all locations and sends a master list to your Account Holder.
  3. The Account Holder (or a delegate designated by your Account Holder) distributes Reporting Keys to staff based on the locations to which the individual staff members have privileges.
  4. Individuals receive the Reporting Key and enter it in the DataManager platform using one of the following procedures:
    1. Accessing Reports for Users without a DataManager Account (first-time users)
    2. Accessing Reports for Users with a DataManager Account (return users)

Reporting Key recipients need to enter an access code just once in DataManager for them to gain access to that location's data on return visits.
