How to Access the New 2024 Norms - Paper Testing (CogAT and Iowa Assessments)

This article will help you locate and use the updated OSS form with the 2024 norms for paper-based testing with CogAT and/or the Iowa Assessments  

Instructions: 

1. Locate the Order for Scoring Services (OSS) included with your test materials. 

1. Important Warning: If your materials were received before 9/19/2025, they may contain an outdated OSS form. 

1. Any OSS dated prior to 08/01/2025 is outdated. Please discard the outdated OSS. 

1. If needed, download the latest OSS form and Ordering Instructions for CogAT and the Iowa Assessments from the Riverside Insights website under Group Assessments Scoring Services. 

1. On the updated OSS (marked “Revised 08/01/2025” or later in the bottom righthand corner): 

1. 2024 norms are applied by default. 

1. A checkbox is provided to select 2017 norms if preferred. 

1. The availability of Kindergarten and Grade 1 norms for the Iowa Assessments Levels 5, 6, and 7 has been expanded. See the updated OSS or Ordering Instructions for details. 

1. Complete the OSS form with your testing information. 

1. Submit the OSS form with your paper materials as usual. 

Tips or Common Issues: 

• Orders submitted with an older OSS will automatically be processed using 2024 norms, regardless of selections indicated on the outdated form. 

• Double-check the revision date (“Revised 08/01/2025” or later) on the bottom righthand corner to ensure you’re using the correct version. 

• Download an updated OSS and Ordering Instructions from the website as needed.  Do not submit any older versions.
