Close a test event
Data Package: Online Testing
Role: Account Holder or Administrator
When a test event closes, any remaining tests are sent to scoring and final reports are generated. A test event is automatically closed 30 days after the test event date. However, if all testing is completed before then, the district has the option of closing the test event earlier.
Important: After you close a test event, you cannot complete any additional tasks for the event. Reopening a test event may affect the norms used for scoring and should be done with discretion. If you close a test event in error and need to reopen it, contact the DataManager Support Center. (See the DataManager Online Help Home page for contact information.)
To close a test event:
1. Click the Assessments heading, then select Test Events.
The Test Events Overview page opens to the All Test Events table, which defaults to events that are currently open. Typically, your district will have 0-2 open test events at a time, one per assessment type, one season or quarter at a time.
IMPORTANT: Test events constitute the broadest grouping of test assessments, incorporating locations, grades/levels, batteries/domains, and students. Create one only per assessment type and testing period, and select the broadest possible participant group and roster. If you see an open event with the same assessment type as you are about to create, use that existing event rather than creating a new one for the same testing period.
2. In the Complete Tasks for this Test Event box, click Close this Test Event
A confirmation box asks you to confirm that you want to close this test event.
3. Click Continue to close the test event. The Edit Test Event page is refreshed and the Complete Tasks for this Test Event area is updated to show that the test event has been closed.
