Texas Emergent Bilingual/English Learner Reclassification Testing

for Grades 1, 2, 11, and 12

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) replaced its Commissioner’s List of Approved Tests with a single statewide assessment for English Learner reclassification, effective in the 2019-2020 school year. TEA selected Riverside Insights^® as the single State Standardized Reading Assessment for English Learner Reclassification for grades 1, 2, 11, and 12, per contract #4023.

Required Iowa Assessments Subtests

Grades 1 - 2 (Levels 7 - 8)

• Reading
• Language

With your purchase of the Iowa Assessments Survey Battery, you will also receive the Mathematics subtest. Administration of this subtest is NOT required by TEA for EL Reclassification purposes but is optional for further assessing your students.

Grades 11 - 12 (Level 17/18)

• Reading
• Written Expression

With your purchase of the Iowa Assessments Complete Battery, you will also receive the following subtests:

• • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Social Studies
  • Vocabulary
  • Computation

Administration of these subtests is NOT required by TEA for EL Reclassification purposes but is optional for further assessing your students.
