About the Session:
Join Riverside Insights, Dr. Byron McClure from Lessons for SEL, Dr. Evelyn Johnson from Aperture Education in a webinar dedicated to discussing a strength based approach to Social and Emotional Learning for all students. This session will be interactive, so please feel free to bring questions.
Learning Objectives:
- Discuss the benefits of a strengths based SEL approach
- Explore and understand tools to collect baseline SEL data and align instructional resources with student needs
- Identify key practices for leveraging strengths to promote social-emotional functioning within the MTSS structure
Instructor Credentials:
Dr. Byron McClure is a National Certified School Psychologist and Founder of Lessons For SEL, where he uses research, human-centered design thinking to build empathy, ideate, co-create solutions, and design equitable resources that put the needs of children front and center. He formerly served as the Assistant Director of School Redesign at a high school in Southeast, D.C., where he was responsible for leading and reimagining what Social Emotional Learning looked like within an inner-city community.
Dr. Evelyn Johnson is a researcher and educator dedicated to ensuring equitable SEL outcomes for every child. Evelyn is the Vice President of Research and Development at Aperture Education, a mom of 2 adult children, a marathon runner, and an Army veteran. She lives in Boise with her husband and old English sheepdog, Ezra.
