Learn what RAN measures, why it matters for reading and math fluency, and how to effectively use the five new RAN tests to gain deeper insight into processing speed and retrieval fluency. Includes practical guidance and a live demo of test administration on the Riverside platform.
Learning Objectives:
- Define Rapid Automatic Naming (RAN) and explain its relevance to academic skill development.
- Describe the five new RAN subtests in the WJ V and how they contribute to the RAN Reading and RAN Math clusters.
- Identify when and why to include RN measures in a psychoeducational evaluation.
- Navigate the Riverside Insights platform to access and administer the RAN tests.
Instructor Credentials:
Beth Varner, M.Ed., NCSP - Beth Varner is a School Psychologist and Licensed Educational Psychologist. She completed her school psychology training program at the University of Washington in Seattle and has worked as a school psychologist in Alaska, Washington, and California.
