About the Session:

This session will focus on best practices when conducting a comprehensive dyslexia assessment and how the WJ V aligns to the latest research.  The presenters will highlight the definition and characteristics of dyslexia and review the data that should be integrated into a comprehensive dyslexia evaluation.  Specific tests for measuring characteristics of dyslexia from the WJ V will also be highlighted, including a preview of the Dyslexia Test Set included in the WJ V.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the norm sample composition for the WJ V
  • Examine why updated norms are important to accuracy
  • Describe co-norming and how it can enhance your interpretation

Instructor Credentials:

Beth Varner, M.Ed., NCSP - Beth is a Clinical Assessment Consultant with Riverside Insights. She completed her school psychology training program at the University of Washington in Seattle and has worked as a school psychologist in Alaska, Washington, and California.
