Why does it seem like my examinee's age was rounded up or changed?

An examinee's age is rounded up to the nearest month if testing falls on or after the 15th day of the month. If testing falls before the 15th, the age is not rounded up.

This rule is universal across all Riverside Clinical products, including Woodcock-Johnson IV (WJ IV), Woodcock-Johnson V (WJ V), Battelle Developmental Inventory, 3rd Edition (BDI-3), Batería IV, Woodcock-Muñoz Language Survey III (WMLS III), and Tests of Early Cognitive and Academic Development (ECAD).

For example, if an examinee was born on March 3 and is tested on August 15 of the same year, their age is calculated as 5 years, 6 months rather than 5 years, 5 months, since testing occurred on the 15th day of the month.

Age precision matters here because norm-referenced scores are calculated against age-based norm tables — a difference of even one month can shift which set of norms applies to the examinee's results.
