What Is the University Training Program (UTP), and How Do I Apply?
The University Training Program (UTP) is designed to help professors who teach courses covering one or more Riverside Insights clinical assessments. Approved professors and their students receive discounted or free access to training and testing materials for the Woodcock-Johnson IV (WJ IV), Woodcock-Johnson V (WJ V), or Battelle Developmental Inventory, 3rd Edition (BDI-3).
How to apply
Professors must apply separately for each test they teach — approval for one product does not cover the others.
- WJ IV or WJ V: apply at https://info.riversideinsights.com/required-course-information
- BDI-3: apply at https://info.riversideinsights.com/bdi3_university_training
Approved professors receive an email with instructions for accessing their discounted pricing and materials. Follow those instructions closely, since they explain the specific steps needed to receive the discount.
Reapplying each year
UTP access is not permanent. Professors must reapply every year, using the same application link they originally applied through, to maintain continued access.
Training access, by product
- WJ V: Training videos are available to professors through Riverside Learn. Students do not use Riverside Learn — a separate WJ V student training site is provided instead.
- BDI-3: Both professors and students access training videos through Riverside Learn.
- WJ IV: Professors receive a link to WJ IV training videos with their acceptance email. Professors can share this same link with their students.
Testing access
Beyond training content, UTP also grants both professors and students access to Riverside Score itself, so students can administer practice or supervised tests as part of their coursework.
Pricing, by product
- WJ IV: Approved professors receive 50% off WJ IV materials.
- WJ V: All WJ V testing and training materials are free for approved professors.
- BDI-3: Training and Access Keys are free for approved professors. Physical materials are 50% off.
