How Do I Stream or Download Audio Files?
You can stream or download audio files directly from the Resources tab in Riverside Score. This applies to all products with audio content, including Woodcock-Johnson IV (WJ IV), Woodcock-Muñoz Language Survey III (WMLS III), and Batería IV. If you're testing at a location with a reliable internet connection, streaming (the Listen option) is the quickest method. If your connection is unreliable, downloading the audio in advance avoids interruptions during testing.
Streaming audio for a complete test
- Sign in at RiversideScore.com. The Riverside Score Dashboard appears.
- In the Riverside Score header, click the Resources tab. The Resources page appears.
- Under the Audio Files heading, click the grey bar for the test you want to administer. A list appears below the bar, with the full, continuous test on the first line and individual test items on the following lines.
- Click Listen on the first line to play the entire test in a continuous stream. The row expands to show an audio player and the individual test questions.
- Click the play/pause button on the left of the player to start the audio. It plays one question after another continuously when playing the full test.
- Use the double-arrow buttons to jump to the previous or next question.
- To play a single question instead, click that specific test item, then click Listen on that line. The audio player appears below the question and plays it once.
Downloading audio for a complete test
Downloading test audio to your device lets you reuse it and avoids problems from a poor internet connection at the test site.
- Sign in at RiversideScore.com. The Riverside Score Dashboard appears.
- In the Riverside Score header, click the Resources tab, then find the Audio Files heading.
- Click the Download link next to the full test description.
- Extract the downloaded .zip file for your device:
- Windows laptops, notebooks, and Android phones: Open or Save the .zip file, then extract its contents to a folder of your choice.
- iOS devices: Extract the .zip file.
- Click the first extracted file. Your device's default audio player opens and the recording plays the introductory message, sample questions, and test items in sequence.
- Use the pause, resume, and skip controls to familiarize yourself with the player before your testing session.
Important: If you download audio on an iOS device, you may need an unzip app installed to open and play the files.
