About the Session:
Promoting collaboration between SPs and SLPs in assessment of dyslexia using XBA within the Simple View of Reading framework. Focus on what is dyslexia vs other disabilities. Provide info as to what are language comprehension deficits. Case study will be used. Interventions and intervention resources provided.
Learning Objectives:
- Attendees will have a comprehensive understanding of the Simple View of Reading and its utility for assisting in developing reading interventions
- Attendees will reach consensus that using Cross Battery method can considerably reduce assessment time while increasing diagnostic specificity.
- Attendees will be able to reduce subtest overlap between school psychologists and speech language pathologists.
- Attendees will have ready access to and/or knowledge of web-based resources to assist with reading and writing interventions.
