About the Session:

Age Equivalents (AE) and Grade Equivalents (GE) are often misunderstood and misused in interpreting standardized assessment results. This webinar will provide a comprehensive overview of AE and GE, clarifying their meaning, appropriate use, and limitations.

Learning Objectives:

  • Define and Differentiate: Clearly understand what AE and GE scores represent and how they differ from age and grade norms.

  • Appropriate Application: Learn when it is suitable to use AE and GE scores and when alternative metrics might be more informative.

  • Accurate Interpretation: Gain insights into interpreting AE and GE scores correctly and communicating them effectively to stakeholders.

Instructor Credentials:

Beth Varner MEd, NCSP - Beth is a School Psychologist and Licensed Educational Psychologist (CA, LEP #3925). She completed her school psychology training program at the University of Washington in Seattle and has worked as a school psychologist in Alaska, Washington, and California.​
