Using the WJ IV in ADHD and Executive Functioning Assessments

About the Session:

Join Dr. Grant, and doctoral student Ms. Kelsey Matuszak, as they discuss using the WJ IV in ADHD and executive functioning (EF) assessments. As part of the webinar, Dr. Grant and Ms. Matuszak will be providing: 1) an overview of ADHD and EF, 2) guidance regarding the EF domains covered by select WJ IV COG, ACH, and OL tests; and 3) tips for examiners to consider before and after testing.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify at least three executive functioning skills that can be tested using the WJ IV.
  • Identify three strategies to use before, and after testing, when working with children suspected of behavioral and/or attentional challenges.
  • Identify at least one federal law that applies to the education of children with ADHD and/or EF related concerns.

Instructor Credentials:

Geremy Grant, PhD - Geremy Grant is an Assistant Professor of School Psychology and a Nationally Certified School Psychologist. He has a Doctorate in School Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. Geremy has spent the last several years training in both educational and clinical settings. He has a passion for social justice and desires to bridge racial, ethnic, and cultural gaps in education to ensure equitable outcomes for all students. Outside of work, Geremy spends time with his wife, and his pet parrot. He also enjoys playing guitar, singing, and video games.
 
Kelsey Matuszak - Kelsey Matuszak is a School Psychology PsyD student at Alfred University. Kelsey’s long-term professional goals consist of working with school-aged children with developmental and intellectual disabilities in both the educational and clinical settings. Outside of school, Kelsey enjoys playing soccer, traveling, and spending quality time with friends and family.
